Thiruvananthapuram: An investigation report shedding light on Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M.R. Ajith Kumar’s meetings with an RSS leader has been released. The report states that the reasons behind Kumar's meetings remain unclear. It also notes that there is insufficient evidence to confirm or dismiss allegations that he attempted to influence the veteran leader for 'securing' the DGP post.

The reports from two separate investigations concerning Ajith Kumar were presented today by the Chief Minister in the Assembly. These include an inquiry conducted by the DGP related to Kumar's meeting with the RSS leader, as well as a report from senior officials regarding allegations raised by P.V. Anvar. The first report has now been made public.

The investigation highlights two instances where Ajith Kumar met RSS leaders, particularly raising questions about his meeting with Dattatreya Hosabale, the General Secretary of the RSS, in Thrissur. However, it concludes that there was nothing unusual about his meeting with Ram Madhav in Thiruvananthapuram, noting that they encountered each other at a public event and suggesting that there was no malicious intent.

The report expresses doubts concerning the meeting with Dattatreya Hosabale, pointing out that while the visit was personal, there is a lack of clarity about the content of their discussion behind closed doors. Although there are allegations that Ajith Kumar met RSS leader to gain favour for a DGP position or to secure a President's Police Medal, the report does not confirm or dismiss these claims. Should these allegations be accurate, they would constitute violation of service regulations.

The report includes Ajith Kumar’s explanation regarding his meeting with Hosabale, stating that the visit was facilitated by RSS leader Jayakumar in April 2023. Kumar expressed that he was interested in seeing various political and social leaders, claiming such interactions are beneficial for his work. However, this explanation was not considered by the DGP. Furthermore, the report does not suggest any need for ongoing investigation into the matter.
