Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani visits Guruvayur temple; offers Rs 15 cr for hospital project

Guruvayur: Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani visited the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple on Sunday and offered prayers. He handed over a cheque of ₹15 crore to the Guruvayur Devaswom as the first instalment for constructing a proposed Devaswom multi-speciality hospital in Thrissur district.

Ambani arrived by helicopter around 7:30 am and was received by Devaswom Chairman Dr. VK Vijayan and other officials. After being adorned with a golden ribbon at the Srivatsam Guest House, he proceeded for darshan at the temple.

As public darshan was restricted due to the holiday, Ambani entered the temple after lighting ghee lamps for 25 devotees. He offered prayers at the Nalambalam and made offerings including garlands, fruits, and sugar at the flagpost. He later received prasadam from the temple priest.

The Devaswom chairman presented Ambani with the temple’s prasadam and a mural painting as a token of gratitude. During the visit, officials also briefed him on the proposed hospital project and shared details about the temple elephants.

Earlier in the day, Ambani visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, where he took part in the Suprabhata Seva. He was welcomed by Additional Executive Officer Venkayya Chowdary, who arranged a special darshan. After the rituals, Vedic scholars offered Veda Ashirvachanam (Vedic blessings), and Ambani received theertha prasadam and a portrait of Lord Venkateswara.
