Record sale at Bevco: Liquor worth Rs 750 cr sold during Onam

Thiruvananthapuram: A record-breaking sale took place at the outlets of Beverages Corporation during the Onam season. Although the market was dull due to Covid crisis, it is estimated that liquor sales skyrocketed for Onam. As per reports, liquor worth Rs 750 crore was sold through Bevco outlets during Onam days.

The highest sale took place on the day of Utharadam. Rs 85 crore worth liquor was sold on that day alone. Since the outlets were closed on the day of Thiruvonam, there was a huge rush on the Uthradam day.  

The Bevco outlet at the Power House Road in Thiruvananthapuram witnessed the highest liquor sale on Uthradam day. Liquor worth Rs 1,04,00,000 was sold here and it is the biggest sale in the recent years. The highest sale in Consumerfed was recorded at the Kunnamkulam outlet.

An online system was set up in three shops in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode in connection with Onam. Bevco authorities made it clear that the online sales was successful in all three places.
