Rationalist leader U Kalanathan passes away

Vallikkunnu: U Kalanathan, leader of the rationalist movement, passed away. He served as the Organizing Secretary of Kerala Rationalist Association (Kerala Yukthivadi Sangham) Calicut District, State President of the Association, and National Secretary of Federation of Indian Rationalist Association. He also served as the President of Vallikkunnu Panchayat from 1979 to1984 and from 1995 to 2000. His major works include Aathmaavu Sankalpamo Yadharthyamo, Jolsyam Sasthramo Sasthra Aabhasamo, Jeevaparinaamam, and many more.

He had decided to donate his eyes and body to Calicut Medical College after death. He is survived by wife M K Sobhana and son Shameer.
