Kannur: Farzeen Majeed, accused in the case pertaining to protest against CM inside flight, in an interview with Mathrubhumi News, said that CPM is building a narrative to frame him as a notorious criminal and terrorist. According to him, the move resembles how CPM framed slain Youth Congress leader SP Shuhaib.

“That is the approach of CPM in Kannur. They will frame the person as a criminal. After such a labelling, they will ensure that person is no more,” he said.

The objective is to create an impression in the mind of the people that the person was supposed to be killed, he added.

“Let them say anything. But their attribution that I am a criminal or terrorist is something that hurt me. They are trying to cast me as a terrorist because of my name,” he said.

Referring to the incident at the flight, Farzeen said that it was LDF convener EP Jayarajan who crossed the limit. "It was a peaceful protest which would have ended with our couple of slogans against the CM. We don't know why Jayarajan reacted like that," he said.

Jayarajan had said that the protestors marched towards the CM when he was on board and he had to push them away. This version was corroborated in the report of the airline as well. The youths were charged with attempt to murder. The incident happened on an IndiGo 6E flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram.
