Wayanad: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has secured an overwhelming victory in her debut Lok Sabha election, surpassing the 3.64 lakh lead achieved by her brother, Rahul Gandhi, in the 2024 Wayanad polls earlier this year. With a staggering lead of over 4 lakh votes, Priyanka took to her X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday to express her gratitude to the people of Wayanad for their overwhelming support and trust.

"My dearest sisters and brothers of Wayanad, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. I will make sure that over time, you truly feel this victory has been your victory and the person you chose to represent you understands your hopes and dreams and fights for you as one of your own. I look forward to being your voice in Parliament!"

The historic win also sparked a wave of gratitude from Priyanka towards her supporters and colleagues. She thanked the United Democratic Front (UDF) leaders, Kerala volunteers, workers, and campaign team for their tireless efforts. "Thank you for giving me this honour and even more for the immense love you have given me. My colleagues in the UDF, leaders from across Kerala, workers, volunteers and my office colleagues who worked incredibly hard in this campaign, thank you for your support, for tolerating my 12 hour a day (no food, no rest) car journeys, and for fighting like true soldiers for the ideals we all believe in,” she shared, acknowledging their commitment to the campaign.

Priyanka also paid a special tribute to her family, expressing deep gratitude to her mother Sonia Gandhi, husband Robert Vadra, and her children, Raihan and Miraya, for their unwavering support. "No gratitude is ever enough for the love and courage you give me." She also expressed her heartfelt thanks to her brother, Rahul Gandhi, whom she called "the bravest of them all" for always having her back and showing her the way.

This victory not only marks a personal milestone for Priyanka but also strengthens the Gandhi family's influence in Wayanad.
