Police record first arrest in fake job scam linked to Health Minister’s office
Thiruvananthapuram: The Cantonment Police arrested a person allegedly involved in the fake job scam linked to Kerala Health Minister Veena George’s office on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Kozhikode native advocate Raheez, a friend of Akhil Sajeev, who has been named accused in the case.
According to the police, Raheez was involved in forging fake emails and letters under the name of the minister’s private secretary and Ayush Mission. The police have also seized a mobile phone used for the purpose. It has been reportedly found that Raheez used Akhil Sajeev’s phone and was involved in financial dealings with him.
Meanwhile, the police interrogated Raheez along with Muhammad Abdul Basith, a friend of complainant Malappuram native Haridas. Haridas had also been asked to appear for questioning on Tuesday, but his phone was not reachable, police said.
