PM Modi: 'MT gave voice to the silent and marginalised'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences on the passing of MT Vasudevan Nair. In a post on social media platform X, he stated that he was deeply saddened by the loss of MT Vasudevan Nair, a highly respected figure in Malayalam cinema and literature.

The Prime Minister mentioned that MT's works, which delved deeply into human emotions, played a massive role in shaping generations and will continue to inspire many. He also gave a voice to the marginalised and the silenced. Modi shared that he stands in solidarity with MT's family and the nation in their grief.

"Saddened by the passing away of Shri MT Vasudevan Nair Ji, one of the most respected figures in Malayalam cinema and literature. His works, with their profound exploration of human emotions, have shaped generations and will continue to inspire many more. He also gave voice to the silent and marginalised. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

MT Vasudevan Nair passed away on Wednesday at 10:00 pm while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was surrounded by his daughter Aswathi, son-in-law Srikanth, and grandson Madhav during his final moments. In honor of his passing, the state has declared a two-day mourning period.
