PK Ragesh elected Deputy Mayor of Kannur Corporation

Kannur: PK Ragesh was elected as the Deputy Mayor of Kannur Corporation. In the election held on Friday, PK Ragesh won with 28 votes out of 55 councillors. The LDF candidate secured only 27 votes. The election was held at Collectorate conference hall as per COVID guidelines. The result was announced by 12 pm.

Suma Balakrishnan resigned from the Mayor's post as it was decided earlier that Mayor post would be handed over to Muslim League for rest of the tenure. C Seenath is the Mayor candidate of Muslim League. Five more months are left until the administrative change.

PK Ragesh is being elected as the Deputy Mayor for the third time now. He was elected twice with UDF and once with LDF. Ragesh lost his post last time due to the emergency motion introduced by LDF.
