‘Pinarayi Vijayan, family under Ayyappa’s curse,’ claims BJP leader Sobha Surendran

Palakkad: BJP state general secretary Sobha Surendran has alleged that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s family is under a “serious curse from Lord Ayyappa” and that the upcoming Global Ayyappa Sangamam is being organised to ward it off.

Speaking at a public meeting in Ottapalam as part of the Ganeshotsavam celebrations, Sobha Surendran said a soothsayer from Palakkad had informed the Chief Minister’s wife, Kamala, about the curse and had also suggested remedial rituals.

She further claimed that the astrologer had warned that once Pinarayi Vijayan steps down from office, his daughter and son-in-law would face imprisonment. “I do not know whether the Ayyappa Sangamam in Sabarimala is part of such remedial measures,” she added.

Criticising Vijayan’s past stance on the Sabarimala women’s entry issue, Sobha Surendran said the Chief Minister owed an apology to devotees. “He must withdraw the cases registered against devotees, including those against me. Those who do not understand the essence of Sanatana Dharma are now organising the Ayyappa congregation,” she remarked.

She also questioned the motives behind the event, alleging that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s involvement further raised suspicions. “The believing community will recognise for whom this Sangamam is actually being held,” she asserted.
