Petrol Pumps across Kerala to remain shut on Monday

Kozhikode: All petrol pumps across the state will remain closed from 6 AM to 12 PM on Monday, the All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Dealers has announced on Saturday.
The decision is in protest against the alleged assault on petroleum dealers' officials by tanker drivers during a discussion at the Elathur HPCL depot.
The dispute between petroleum dealers and tanker drivers, which has been ongoing for several days, stems from a disagreement over the amount of ₹300 that dealers have been giving to tanker drivers for fuel delivery. The drivers have demanded an increase in this amount, which the dealers have denied.
During the meeting at the Elathur depot, tanker drivers allegedly assaulted the officials of the Dealers' Federation, leading to a police complaint. Following this, the Federation has also called for a blockade at the Irumbanam HPCL terminal on Tuesday. Additionally, petrol pumps in Kozhikode district will be closed for two hours from 4 PM to 6 PM on Saturday.
