Pantheerankavu dowry abuse: Senior police officer suspended for helping accused

Kozhikode: The Senior Civil Police Officer of Pantheerankavu station, Sarath Lal, has been suspended amidst allegations of helping Rahul, the main accused in the Pantheerankavu domestic abuse case, to flee the country. The suspension follows evidence indicating regular phone contact between Sarath Lal and Rahul, as well as meeting at Rahul’s home. The Station House Officer, A S Sarin, had already been suspended due to alleged lapse in the investigation.

The investigation team, led by Assistant Commissioner Saju K Abraham, along with the forensic department, conducted an inspection of Rahul's residence and his car on Saturday afternoon, collecting evidence.
