Palakkad couple who ‘lived secretly for 10 years’ blessed with baby boy

Ayiloor: The Palakkad couple who had hit the headlines for having lived a “secret life for 10 years” has been blessed with a baby boy. Rahman and Sajitha, natives of Karakkattu Parambu, who got married in September 2021, began their journey to parenthood in June this year. The couple has named their child Rizwan.

Rahman had allegedly kept his lover Sajitha hidden in his house without anyone’s knowledge. 18-year-old Sajitha had left her home in February 2010 to live with Rahman, who did electrical and painting jobs for a living. He kept Sajitha inside a room in his house without anyone knowing for nearly 10 years.

In March 2021, the duo left his house and shifted to another house in Vithanassery. Following this, Rahman’s family lodged a missing complaint with the police and an investigation was underway. Meanwhile, Rahman’s brother spotted him in Nenmara and informed the police. Rahman and Sajitha’s story came to light amid the investigation that followed.

Later, police ended the investigation after the couple stated that they had been living together as per their decision. On September 15, 2021, they got married as per the Special Marriage Act and had been living together in a rented house for the past two years.
