Onam journey not booked yet? Check these trains before tickets run out

Payyanur: Booking has begun for the 112 special train services being operated by the Railways to and from Kerala during the Onam season. Several trains to Chennai and Bengaluru are already on the waiting list, but tickets and berths are still available on a number of services.

Here is a route-wise look at the special trains and the availability of tickets:

Kerala-Chennai route

There are 26 special services between Thiruvananthapuram North, Kollam and Chennai.

Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru

Train 06125: Chennai Egmore to Mangaluru

  • 18th: Berths available, including sleeper class

  • 25th: Service operates

  • September 1: Service operates

Train 06126: Mangaluru to Chennai Egmore

  • 17th: Berths available

  • 24th: Berths available

  • 31st: Berths available

Tambaram-Thiruvananthapuram Central

Train 06109:

  • 20th: AC berths available

  • 27th: Berths available

Chennai Central-Kollam

Train 06119:

  • 19th: Around 600 vacancies; only Third Economy class

  • 26th: Around 300 vacancies

Train 06117:

  • 15th: Waiting list

  • 22nd: Waiting list

  • 29th: Sleeper tickets available

Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram

Train 06110:

  • 19th: Tickets available, including sleeper class

There are 28 special services between the Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam regions and Bengaluru, operating in both directions.

There are also two services from Mysuru to Kannur and two from Kannur to Bengaluru. These trains operate via Palakkad.
