Nothing wrong in including League MLA to Kerala Bank's board of directors: PMA Salam

Kozhikode: P.M.A Salam, General Secretary of the Muslim League, supported the decision to appoint a league representative to the board of directors of Kerala Bank. He remarked that there is nothing wrong in including a League MLA in the Kerala Bank.
P. Abdul Hameed, MLA, Malappuram District General Secretary of Muslim League, was selected to the director board last day. It is also the first time a UDF MLA is becoming part of Kerala Bank, which was formed in 2019 by amalgamating 14 district co-operative banks.
Salam said that League leadership was aware of the decision to appoint Hameed. He stated that the party's position is not to politicise the cooperative sector and to work together to move forward.
Salam pointed out that a League member was previously part of the state co-operative bank.
Meanwhile, some within the League view the move to include the party representative on the director board as intended to weaken the party's petition in the High Court challenging the merger of Malappuram Co-operative Bank with Kerala Bank.
