Not an ideal Doctor’s Day: Medicos taunted, attacked at Ernakulam general hospital

Kochi: Robin Roshan and Josneel, both residents of Mattanchery, were arrested for allegedly attacking doctors at Ernakulam general hospital on Saturday morning.

The duo arrived at the hospital to visit a patient undergoing treatment. According to the complaint, they misbehaved with a female doctor. When house surgeon Hareesh Mohammed questioned them, the accused assaulted him near the cafeteria. They also engaged in a verbal argument with the doctors.

The accused fled the scene immediately after attacking the medicos. However, the police nabbed the accused within hours of the incident. The Ernakulam central police said the duo would be booked under the Hospital Protection Act. There is a round-the-clock police post at the Ernakulam general hospital. Superintendent Dr Shabir Shah told Mathrubhumi News that “it was a deliberate assault.”
