9-yr-old boy flees after seeing stray dog, falls into well and dies in Kannur

Panoor: In a tragic incident, a nine year old boy fell into a well and died as he tried to flee on seeing a stray dog. According to police, the deceased is Muhammad Fazal, son of Usman of Mathath House, Chelakkad. Fazal was a class 4 student of Thuvakunnu Government LP School. 

The incident occurred around 5:30 in the evening. While playing with other children near his house, the children scattered and ran in fear upon seeing a stray dog. During this commotion, Muhammad Fazal fell into a well in a nearby field.

Initially, the other children did not realise Muhammad Fazal was missing as they ran in different directions. It was only when he did not return home for a long time that the locals started searching for him. During the search, they found him in the well, according to Kunnothuparamba Grama Panchayat member P.K. Muhammadali.

The child could not identify the well, which was covered and not easily visible.
