NH 66 Vettichira toll payment starts January 30: Check one-way, round trip, and monthly rates

Malappuram: The National Highways Authority (NHA) has announced that toll collection at Vettichira, the only toll plaza on the new National Highway 66 in Malappuram district, will commence on January 30, 2026.
Private vehicles traveling within a 20-kilometre radius of the toll plaza can purchase a monthly pass for ₹340. The pass will be issued upon presenting an Aadhaar card at the toll gate.
For vehicles traveling twice along the highway within 24 hours, the second trip will be charged at half the toll rate, offering some relief for frequent commuters. This system aims to ensure fairness while managing traffic and revenue efficiently.
Plaza location and nearby tolls
The Vettichira toll plaza is situated between Puthannathani and Valanchery. Toll collection had already started at the Olavanna toll plaza on the Kozhikode bypass—from Ramanattukara to Vengalam—beginning January 15, 2026.
Detailed toll rates by vehicle type

This rate allows for 50 trips.
Commuter convenience and planning
The new toll collection system is designed to accommodate both daily commuters and commercial transport efficiently. Monthly passes allow frequent travelers to save on repeated toll payments, while the partial reduction for return trips ensures fair charges for short-distance travel.
As NH 66 continues to serve as a major route in Kerala, travelers are advised to plan their trips, consider monthly passes, and be aware of the newly enforced toll rates from January 30.
