New youth organisation for SDPI, membership open to former PFI workers

Kozhikode: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) central leadership have decided to launch a new youth wing. The activists of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) will be given membership in the new organisation.
SDPI is the political wing of PFI under which there exists a women’s organisation called the Women India Movement (WIM) and a labour organisation called the Social Democratic Trade Union (SDTU). Apart from this, the leadership has decided to form a new youth organisation.
Although PFI workers will be given membership, SDPI has decided against giving them lead roles for the time being.
Meanwhile, SDPI state president Ashraf Moulavi said that the new organisation is not a substitute for the PFI. He said that a decision has been taken to study and review the possibilities of forming a new youth organisation.
