Navy deep divers to use boomer excavators to excavate Arjun's lorry

Shirur: On the ninth day since Arjun went missing following a landslide here, the Karnataka Government has confirmed that a lorry believed to be Arjun's was found in the Gangavalli River. Now the task remains to get the lorry out of the river. Deep divers of the Navy have descended for this.
It is learned that the lorry was found 20 meters away from the river bank. A long arm boomer excavator is used for dredging. It is concluded that the truck is at a depth of 15 meters. The information received from the Karnataka Police is that the vehicle found is a Bharat Benz lorry.
There is currently a strong current in the river. Divers have to survive this to reach the place. Operations, including flow control, are in progress.
On the morning of July 16, Arjun (30), a native of Kannadikkal in Kozhikode, was on the Panvel-Kanyakumari National Highway near the Karnataka-Goa border on his lorry when the tragedy struck. His lorry's GPS was last located at the place where 10 people, including a tea shop owner, died in the landslide.
The soil was covered at the site at a height of about 10 meters. The heavy rains that are continuing to lash the area have been a big problem for the rescue operation. The rescuers found the lorry after overcoming all odds.
