Footage release orchestrated; detention even after transfer an entrapment, claims ADM’s family

Pathanamthitta: The family of Naveen Babu, who was the Kannur ADM, has alleged that the CCTV footage of the meeting between Naveen Babu and Prashanth was staged. According to them, the footage was deliberately created by following Naveen Babu.
A cousin of Naveen Babu, Girish Kumar, has accused that he was deliberately held back in Kannur despite having received a transfer order on October 4, in an attempt to implicate him.
Even though the transfer order had been issued, they kept him in Kannur, and the Collector delayed his release. The Pathanamthitta Collector had to call the Kannur Collector to get him relieved. Naveen had told them that due to the festival holidays, he could not be relieved on that day and would be released the following Monday and join Pathanamthitta on Tuesday. Despite facing many difficulties, he did not mention it to anyone.
His uncle, Balakrishnan, meanwhile, claimed that the Collector also played a role in this, adding that there was immense pressure in Kannur. Naveen had expressed a desire to leave for Pathanamthitta as soon as possible.
Balakrishnan further alleged that false evidence was being created to show that Naveen and Prashanth had met. Keeping someone back in Kannur, even after receiving a transfer order on October 4, was a deliberate attempt to entangle him in a case. He had told them on the phone that he had completed all the required files before leaving.
