Opposition irked by favorable circumstances for continuity of govt: M. V. Shreyams Kumar MP

Wayanad: LJD state chief M. V. Shreyams Kumar MP stated that the Opposition is irked as the circumstances are favourable for continuity of the government.
The Opposition has not raised any valid allegations against the government. All crises have been overcome by the state government and there is no situation to postpone the local body polls, Shreyams Kumar said.
"If local body polls are not held, there will be bureaucracy. Due to this, the LDF shows interest in conducting the local body polls. A huge share of the plan fund is spent through the local bodies. It should be done efficiently, especially during the COVID times," he added.
"Being an MP, I intend to stand for secularism, upholding democratic values and to address the problems of the public and environmental issues," Shreyams Kumar stated.
"There are many things happening around us which can have serious consequences. We have to move against it in the Parliament. Pure air, clean water and soil are the fundamental rights of a human being. The new EIA draft notification includes many matters that would affect the public. The draft was published in only two languages. Relaxations were allowed in 70 sectors through this draft," he said.
"The relaxations brought in key sectors like coal mining can cause a huge impact on the environment. The notification also limits the chances for the public to raise their issues. Though they claim in the preface that the relaxations are allowed for avoiding red-tapism, we have to fight against it," Shreyams Kumar said.
