Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state president Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal stated here on Saturday that South India will have a significant role in determining who will rule the country next.

Attending an event as part of M K Raghavan's election campaign in Kozhikode, Thangal lauded the UDF candidates’ list and added that people in Kerala would align with the United Democratic Alliance in the upcoming election. He opined that the list contains names of those who could make real contributions to the parliament.

"Every day, the Modi government is undermining numerous values that the country cherishes. According to a global survey, India is governed by a democratically elected authoritarian government. It holds the 167th position among democratic nations in the survey. The 2024 elections coincide with a period when the country's position in various indexes is declining," he said.
