Music, pet cat help Jinesh fight loneliness

When his Duffmuttu performance was marked with A grade, spreading the joy of victory to Hinata was the only thought in his mind. After all, it was only Hinata whom he had to share the news with.
Jinesh, the grade 11 Humanities Student at Thiruvananthapuram Nandiyode SKVHSS is an ardent music lover whose passion in life is nothing but music. At his home, the number 10 house in Jawahar colony, no one awaits him to listen to his victory.
The only soul he has to company at home is Hinata, his pet cat. Some time back, Jinesh found her deserted by the road on his return from School. She was a baby then. He took her home, treated her, named her Hinata and started taking care of her. Now she is an integral part of his life .
While speaking about his life, Jinesh tried hard not to break words and to give into tears.
Home..Alone ...
Jinesh lost both his parents two years ago to illness. His mom Sindhu was the first to succumb to death due to diabetes followed by his dad within the six months of mom's loss. All his childhood memories are of treatment and medicines because of the parents ailments. The poor circumstances of the family added up to the misery as they had to find financial means to survive and for the treatment.
The battle of shuttling between hospitals and home grabs his childhood memories and he feels that it is good that without much suffering, his parents left the world.
In their parents' absence, Jinesh and his older brother Jyothish were left to themselves at home. Jyothish took charge of home and worked in and around the place for a year. After a year, he moved to Bahrain for work, leaving Jinesh alone at home.
Jinesh also works along with his schooling and household work at his home. He sings for wedding events, is regular with rubber tapping which helps him run the house.
He practises music by singing to Hinata. She will listen to his practice sessions as there is no one else to whom he could turn to. Jinesh hasn't got professional training in music. When people who have heard him sing suggested that he could sing well , he joined Duffmuttu, Mappilappattu and Vattappattu Competitions.
At the Youth Festival Jinesh is competing in the Mappilappattu and Vattappattu competitions in the coming days.
The constant support and encouragement of M.S Aneesh, his Political Science teacher of the School is the motivating factor for Jinesh's aspirations.
His brother Jyothish and his dear friends also encourage Jinesh to take his musical journey forward.
"Jinesh is a good academic performer and he sings well. Though his family background and circumstances are discouraging for his musical training, I would like to enrol him for BA Music. I will support him to accomplish his dreams," school teacher M.S Aneesh.
