Act of benevolence bears fruit, Varsha successfully donates liver to mother

Kochi: Kannur natives Varsha and her mother Radha made headlines after a video of the former went viral on social media seeking help for a liver transplant surgery. Within days, many good-hearted souls extended help and collected over Rs 89 lakh for the surgery.

Now, it is reported that the 13-hour-long surgery on Radha has been successfully completed. Both Varsha, the donor and Radha, the recipient, are gradually coming back to life.

The surgery was done at Amrita hospital here. It started at 11 am and went on till 9 pm on Thursday.

According to hospital authorities, the surgery was successful. Varsha was shifted to ICU on Friday night. Radha will be shifted after two days.
