Isolated rains likely in Kerala; Monsoon to arrive on June 4

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal and the entire Andaman and Nicobar islands. It is likely to further move towards Maldives and Kanyakumari regions within the next two or three days. 

The monsoon rains will lash Kerala on June 4, predicted IMD. Meanwhile, an atmospheric trough has been formed over the southeast Arabian Sea. Isolated heavy showers are likely in Kerala too. Yellow alerts have been sounded in Idukki district on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Rain alert has also been declared in Idukki on June 2 and Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Alappuzha on June 3.
