Mollywood actress Nikhila Vimal leads relief efforts from Kannur

Kannur: Amid ongoing relief work for the victims of the Wayanad landslide, actress Nikhila Vimal has taken a proactive role by participating in the efforts. She joined volunteers at the Taliparamba Collection Centre here, established by the DYFI, to pack and dispatch essential goods to the affected areas.
Photos and videos shared on social media platforms showed the actress packing and preparing relief materials late into the night, alongside other volunteers. Her efforts have garnered widespread praise on social media, with many fans and well-wishers commending her initiative and dedication to helping those in need.
While many other film stars have expressed their concern and offered prayers for the affected, Nikhila's on-ground efforts have been greatly appreciated.
On the work front, Nikhila has several projects in the pipeline, including Oru Jaathi Oru Jathakam, Thaaram, Get Set Baby, and Anali, featuring prominent actors such as Sreenivasan and Vineeth Sreenivasan.
According to reports, over 180 people have been killed and hundreds injured due to the massive landslides in Wayanad on Tuesday. Rescue operations resumed on Wednesday, with agencies racing against the clock to locate and extract survivors from the debris.
Meanwhile, based on inputs from the Kerala Government, forest officials, and villagers, a team from the 122 Infantry Battalion (TA) Madras, led by Sub Gijil, Sub Jayesh, and Nb Sub Anilkumar, along with 12 jawans, rescued 19 civilians stranded in Ela Resort and Vana Rani Resort beyond Mundakai village, the Defence PRO for Kerala said.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi are expected to arrive in the landslide-affected areas tomorrow.
