POCSO case against 'No 18' hotel owner Roy J Vayalat, others

Kochi: A POCSO case has been registered against 'No 18' hotel owner Roy J Vayalat at the Fort Kochi police station based on complaint by a mother and daughter from Kozhikode. Roy's friend Saiju Thankachan and his friend Anjali were also named accused in the case.
According to the complaint, Roy had sexually assaulted the girl in his hotel weeks before the car accident that left two Kerala models dead in Vytilla. Further, the accused allegedly recorded the incident on mobile phone. Anjali had threatened to share the video on social media if she lodged a complaint with the police.
The POCSO case was handed over to the Special Investigation Team investigating the model's accident case. It is learned that accused will be arrested only after taking the statement of the mother and daughter.
Roy and Saiju are also accused in the death of models in Vytilla. In addition, seven cases have been registered against Saiju at various stations for drug use and drug trafficking.
On the night of November 1, while returning after attending a party at Hotel No 18, the models were killed after their car crashed into the median on the Palarivattom bypass. Later, police found that the accident occurred and Saiju was following the models from the hotel. Further, CCTV footage of the party was destroyed by Roy and the hotel staff. Following this, Roy was arrested for attempting to destroy evidence.
