Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Minister for Health Veena George clarified her remarks over the death of Dr Vandana Das at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital on Wednesday. She slammed that the media and Opposition were misinterpreting her statements for consciously evoking a controversy.

“The cruel mindset to spark a controversy even amid a tragedy has surfaced here. My words are available for anyone to check. My acquaintances know that I am not a person who makes insensitive comments,” read the minister's latest Facebook post.

Though it is not a time to come forward with such explanations, the post has been published for the public to understand the reality, she added.

Hence, she might have got scared by the attack, added the minister.

Soon after her comments gained traction in the media, the leaders of opposition raised severe criticism against the minister.
