Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), popularly known by its brand Milma, has taken a significant step in expanding its global footprint by signing a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RG Foods and Midnightsun Global. The agreement aims to facilitate the export of Milma's products to Australia and New Zealand.

The MoU was signed in Thiruvananthapuram by KCMMF Managing Director Asif K Yusuf, RG Foods Executive Director Vishnu G, and Midnightsun Global Proprietor Bindu Ganesh Kumar, with Milma Chairman K S Mani also present, according to an official statement.

Under the terms of the agreement, RG Foods will manage the logistics of Milma products, including pick-up from KCMMF facilities, transportation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding. The company will also ensure compliance with the import regulations of both Australia and New Zealand. Midnightsun Global will serve as the coordinating partner, overseeing operational tasks and facilitating the export process without assuming ownership of the products.

“This agreement marks a milestone in Milma's successful overseas market outreach for its products, known for their quality and health benefits,” said Milma Chairman K S Mani.

Milma products are already available in key Gulf countries, and the new partnership with RG Foods and Midnightsun Global will help extend its reach to two other significant markets with a large Non-Resident Keralite (NRK) population.

Mani added, "The biggest beneficiaries of this expansion are the dairy farmers, the core members of our cooperative. Last year, Milma passed on 92.5% of its profits to the farmers."

The initial phase of exports will focus on products such as paneer, payasam mix, and dairy whitener, with plans to explore further export opportunities in countries with large Kerala diaspora populations, Yusuf said.
