Milma milk price to increase by ₹4 per litre from tomorrow

Milma milk price will go up from June 1. The Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), which markets milk under the Milma brand and holds nearly 85% of Kerala’s milk market, had announced a ₹4 per litre increase in milk prices with effect from tomorrow.
With the revised rates coming into effect, a 500 ml packet of homogenised toned milk, currently priced at Rs 26, will cost Rs 28.
Of the ₹4 hike, ₹3.35 per litre—around 83.75% of the additional amount—will be passed on directly to dairy farmers, while Milma will retain only a nominal share without affecting farmers’ benefits.
Milma said the price revision was necessary in view of rising production costs and the financial challenges faced by dairy farmers. According to Milma, prolonged drought conditions and the steep rise in the cost of milk procured from neighbouring states have led to losses for regional unions. The federation said the hike was essential to ensure the sustainability of dairy farming in Kerala and to encourage farmers to remain in the sector.
Milma also indicated that the prices of other dairy products may be revised upward soon.
