Milk price likely to be hiked in Kerala, says Minister Chinchu Rani

Thiruvananthapuram: The price of milk in the state is set to rise, according to Minister J.Chinchu Rani. She clarified that the revision would be implemented in a way that benefits dairy farmers. However, the minister also pointed out that the authority to decide on the price hike rests with Milma.

The minister made these remarks while responding to a submission raised by MLA Thomas K. Thomas in the Assembly. She further noted that Kerala is already the state that pays the highest rate for milk in the country.

Meanwhile, the Assembly continued discussions on an adjournment motion regarding the severe inflation in the state. The Opposition had demanded a special debate on the issue, and MLA P.C. Vishnunadh moved the notice for the adjournment motion.
