Man attacked by bear while gathering firewood in forest

Sultan Bathery: A man was severely injured after being attacked by a bear while gathering firewood in the forest. Krishnan (45), a native of Noolpuzha Naiketty colony, was attacked at around 4 pm on Sunday.

The bear charged towards Kirshnan causing severe injuries to his left arm. In a desperate attempt to defend himself, Krishnan wielded a knife, preventing the bear from inflicting further harm, particularly to his neck. The bear retreated from the attack after Krishnan’s son Binu called out for help. 

Krishnan was rushed to the Bathery Taluk hospital and later shifted to the Kozhikode medical college for specialist treatment.
