Man driving a car hits a woman biker; instead of helping flees with her chain

Elavoor: A man travelling in a car hits a woman biker, snatches her chain and flees the spot later on. The victim was identified as Bijimol, a resident of Elavoor village. The victim was badly injured in the incident. The incident happened yesterday early morning on the Mambra Puliyanam Boundary road.

Bijimol was on her way back after dropping her husband in Angamaly. In the impact of the hit, the scooter fell into a canal beside the road. In the pretext of offering help, the accused approached the injured victim and snatched her prayer chain mistaking it to be gold. As the thief realised this, he fled the spot immediately leaving the chain.

Locals who rushed to the spot hearing Bijimol’s cries shifted her to a private hospital in the area. 

A complaint has been filed in connection with the incident at the Koratty police station. CCTV visuals of the incident have been retrieved.
