Man dies as bike overturns after hitting porcupine in Malappuram

Moothedam (Malappuram): A tragic accident claimed the life of a young man in Moothedam in Malappuram when his motorcycle overturned after hitting a porcupine that suddenly crossed the road. The deceased has been identified as Shafiq, 34, a resident of Karappuram, Moothedam.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday at Paraipadi in Palankara. Shafiq was on his way to Kalikavu for work when the incident occured. After hitting the porcupine, the bike went out of control and collided with an electric pole on the roadside. Despite being rushed to the Government District Hospital in Nilambur, Shafiq succumbed to injuries.

Shafiq is survived by mother Zubaidah, wife Sidratul Muntaha, and daughter Shasa. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shamsher, Sabita, and Sabna.
