Man approaches police station after lover refuses to accompany him; cuts wrist

Kozhikode: A youth tried to commit suicide by cutting wrist after quarrelling with his lover at a police station in Kozhikode. Akbar Ali (24) approached Kozhikode City Women’s Police Station, accompanied by a 26-year-old married woman from Thiruvananthapuram, saying they wished to live together. 

Earlier, Thiruvananthapuram police station registered a case after a married woman went missing on Thursday. Following this, Akbar Ali and the woman approached Kozhikode station. 

The police in Kozhikode decided to keep the woman under custody due to the prevailing case in Thiruvananthapuram station. Meanwhile, a fight broke out between the woman and Akbar. It was alleged that the woman refused to go with him to his residence in Malappuram.

The woman, who has a 5-year-old child, said she would not go with Akbar Ali. Infuriated by her remark, Akbar Ali went to a shop nearby, bought a razor blade and cut his wrist. He returned to the station with blood seeping from his wound. Police rushed him to the beach government hospital in Kozhikode. 

It is learned that the two became close after meeting in a Whatsapp fan group of a famous Tamil film star.
