‘Everything has its own time’: CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Mammootty’s Padma Bhushan honour

“It is good that our cabinet could witness Mammootty being honoured now; everything has its own time,” Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
The Chief Minister stated that it was fortunate for the present cabinet to witness Mammootty receiving the Padma Bhushan. He noted that the actor had been recommended for the honour for many years and emphasised that recognition comes in its own time. CM was speaking at the State Film Awards presentation ceremony, where he congratulated Mammootty on the achievement.
“Each of Mammootty’s characters amazes audiences with its emotional depth. His role in the film Kaathal is one that any superstar would hesitate to portray,” the Chief Minister said. Mammootty won the award for Best Actor at the State Film Awards.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that Bramayugam is being screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, calling it a moment of pride for Malayalis made possible through Mammootty’s contribution to cinema.

He further congratulated veteran actress Sharada, who received the J.C. Daniel Award. He described her as a star who has created wonders for more than half a century. The Chief Minister added that State Film Awards hold great significance today and noted that Malayalam cinema is only two years away from completing 100 years.
