Malayalee expat who was laid off amid Covid pandemic wins Dubai Duty Free raffle

Dubai: A Keralite, who was laid off amid the Covid pandemic, has hit a jackpot. Navaneet Sajeevan, an expatriate who hails from Kasaragod, has won Rs 7.3 crore in the lucky draw of the Dubai Duty Free raffle.

Navaneet had been working in a company in Abu Dhabi for the past 4 years. Following the Covid crisis, he lost the job and December 28 would be his last working day in the firm.

He obtained the phone call informing of the jackpot on his way back from an interview in search of a new job.

Navaneet had taken the lottery ticket sharing with four friends. His family includes wife and their 1-year-old child.
