Lorry crushes 25-yr-old Idukki college teacher to death after bike he was travelling on collides with auto

Idukki, Kerala: A college teacher tragically died after being run over by a lorry following a collision involving an auto-rickshaw on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Joyce P. Shibu (25), a resident of Kumily

and a teacher at Puliyanmala Christ College.

Accident details

The incident occurred at around 8.15 am on the Puliyanmala-Thodupuzha road near Puliyanmala Companypadi. Joyce’s bike collided with an auto-rickshaw travelling ahead from Puliyanmala towards Kattappana, causing him to fall onto the road. At that moment, an oncoming lorry ran over him.

Passengers and bystanders rushed Joyce to hospital, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Information about deceased

Joyce, an alumnus of Christ College, had been working as a BBA teacher at the institution. His body has been taken to Idukki Taluk Hospital. Vandanmedu police arrived at the scene and initiated necessary procedures.
