Pathanamthitta: The LDF has filed a complaint alleging a fraudulent vote cast in Aranmula under the name of a deceased person. The complaint states that Annamma from Karithotta, purportedly impersonated her deceased mother-in-law, also named Annamma, to submit the bogus vote. The complaint suggests collusion between the ward member and the BLO.

The District Collector has been notified of the incident. Annamma, a 94-year-old resident of Karithotta, passed away four years ago. However, an application for voting at home was submitted under her name.

On April 18, the BLO and ward member visited their residence. According to the LDF's complaint, Annamma, the daughter-in-law aged 72, utilized the application intended for the 94-year-old to cast her vote. The BLO has acknowledged an error in this regard. There are allegations that the BLO is associated with the UDF.
