Landslide: Engineering students and teachers from Kerala stranded in Himachal Pradesh

Cheruvathur: A group of third-year Computer Science students and teachers from Cheemeni Engineering College, who had gone on a recreational trip, are stranded in Himachal Pradesh. The group embarked on a North India trip on 20th February. Upon reaching Kulu Manali, the group was stuck for two days due to snowfall, which prevented them from venturing outside.
While trying to return to New Delhi, the group was caught in a landslide on the road. The landslide occurred only after a section of the students (those from the Electronics branch) had passed the area. The rest of the group, which included 20 male students, 23 female students, two teachers, three guides, and two bus staff members, totaling 50 individuals, is stranded on the road.
The landslide occurred at around 8 PM on Friday night when rocks, trees, and earth slipped onto the road near the Green Manali Toll Plaza. The authorities have stated that arrangements were made for the group to return home by Sunday morning, and efforts to clear the debris from the road have already begun. College officials assured that there was no cause for concern, emphasizing that the group was safe and that work was underway to remove the rubble.
