Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 22 driving schools of the KSRTC will start operation by March 30. All the depot chiefs were directed to ensure all the basic amenities to secure the driving school license from the Motor Vehicle Department.

The same should be applied online along with all the important documents. Trainers have to be appointed. Classroom, training hall, vehicles, ground, office, parking space, and test ground space have to be readied.

Central and regional workshop chiefs should ensure all the necessary equipment that is needed at the training hall. Within two weeks, a double control system for clutch and break should be set up in the vehicles.

The principal of Trivandrum Staff Training College has been assigned with the task of overseeing all the operations. Depot chiefs should report to the principal with daily updates.

The driving schools will be starting in Attakulangara, Edappal, Angamali, Parassala, Enjakkal, Anayara, Attingal, Chathannoor, Chadayamangalam, Mavelikara, Pandalam, Pala, Kumily, Perumbavoor, Chalakudy, Nilambur, Ponnani, Chittoor, Kozhikode, Mananthavady, Thalassery, and Kanhangad locations.

This move came in the wake of driving schools refusing to provide testing grounds. The motor vehicle department came up with the idea to rope in KSRTC and start schools.
