Reckless driving by KSRTC driver using phone on Thamarassery ghat road sparks outrage | WATCH

Mukkam: A KSRTC driver was captured on video driving a passenger-filled bus through the sharp curves of Thamarassery Ghat road while talking on his mobile phone. 

A video showing Rafeeq, a driver employed at the Kozhikode depot, driving dangerously while using his phone has been captured by a passenger. The incident happened around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday.

The bus was en route from Kalpetta in Wayanad to Kozhikode. The video, which showed him repeatedly using his phone while driving, quickly went viral on social media, prompting an official investigation.

Kozhikode District Transport Officer confirmed that Rafeeq has been directed to go on leave. The Koduvally RTO has also summoned him to appear at the Thamarassery office with his driving license on Monday morning.

Thamarassery Inspector T K Shiju said no formal complaints have been filed against the driver so far.
