Minister honours KSRTC conductor after passenger’s FB post praising her service goes viral |VIDEO

Kottarakkara (Kerala): KSRTC conductor Rekha, 45, from the Kottarakkara depot, has been honoured by Kerala Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar after a passenger’s heartfelt Facebook post praising her exceptional service went viral.
Passenger Dileep Viswanathan, who travelled on the Kollam–Kottarakkara KSRTC bus, wrote a detailed note on Facebook describing Rekha’s sincerity, compassion and professionalism, calling her a model for public transport employees.
According to the viral post, Rekha moves throughout the bus, addressing passengers affectionately as “Anna,” “Chechi,” “Mole,” and “Da,” guiding each traveller to vacant seats and loudly announcing upcoming stops. She remembers the family details of regular commuters, ensures elderly passengers and newcomers do not miss their stop, and offers help without hesitation.
Dileep recalled that during heavy festival traffic in Keralapuram, he watched Rekha gently wake up a sleeping schoolboy on a nearby bus, someone she recognised as a regular traveller, and reminded him that it was time to get off. He described the KSRTC bus journey as feeling “like a family reunion” because of her warmth and attentiveness.
The post quickly caught the attention of Minister Ganesh Kumar, who called Rekha to his office and personally congratulated her. In a message shared on social media, the minister said this is how KSRTC staff should inspire public confidence, adding that employees who perform exceptionally will continue to be recognised at the government level.
Rekha, a resident of Chandanathope in Kollam, has been serving as a KSRTC conductor for nearly 18 years, earning praise from passengers for her dedication to passenger safety and comfort.
