KSRTC bus driver taken into custody over rash driving complaint by passenger

Venjaramoodu: Police took a KSRTC bus driver into custody following a rash driving complaint by a passenger. The incident took place around 10 am in Venjaramoodu, Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
After a passenger dialed the police control room and filed a complaint against the driver, the police officials promptly stopped the bus, apprehended the driver, and arranged for the passengers to be transferred to alternate buses.
The driver, who belongs to Pala depot, was driving a fast passenger bus en route from Pala to Thiruvananthapuram. Apparently, the police also subjected the driver to a medical examination suspecting he was drunk. However, the test results turned out to be negative and the driver resumed service.
Meanwhile, Venjaramoodu depot authorities lodged a complaint with the police demanding action against the passenger who filed the complaint and misled the police.
However, according to Venjaramoodu SHO Anoop Krishna, the driver was accused of driving the bus recklessly and is being investigated based on the complaint.
