KS Shan murder: Plea to cancel bail of 10 accused in case

Alappuzha: A plea has been filed before the Additional Sessions Court in Alappuzha seeking to quash the bail granted to the accused in the murder of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) leader Adv. K.S. Shan. 

The bench of Judge Roy Varghese at Additional Sessions Court-3 will hear the plea on February 13. The court will also consider the defence's plea to return the charge sheet filed in the case. 

The prosecution requested to quash bail granted to 10 BJP-RSS workers accused in the murder of Shan on December 18, 2021, in Alappuzha. 

Alappuzha DySP filed the Charge Sheet in the case registered by Mannancherry Police. The defendants argued that it should be officials of the Mannancherry Police who should file the charge sheet.

There accused are Mannancherry natives Rajendraprasad and Sreeraj, Vishnu of Avalookunnu, Kattoor natives Abhimanyu and Ratheesh, Sanandh and Pranav of Ponnad, Aryad native Athul,  Dhaneesh of Komalapuram, Kollam native Sreenath and Murukeshan of Kokkothamangalam. 

The prosecution requests the court to cancel the bail of all accused except Ratheesh, the 11th accused in the case.
