CPM wants peace; will respond through ballot paper, says Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan stated that the party will not resort to violence in retaliation for attacks and that the party wants peace.
He was speaking to the media after visiting the family of the DYFI activists, Haq Muhammad and Mithilaj, who were murdered in Venjarammoodu.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that there are a lot of such murders in the history of Congress party in Kerala. However, Congress should not think that they can destroy CPM through such murders. “This area (Thempammoodu) was once unattainable for CPM. However, CPM won here in the last election after several youngsters joined the party,” he said.
“Since then, Congress has targeted those who went to CPM from their camp. The murder attempt on DYFI activist Faisal was also a part of this. But Faisal escaped miraculously. Following this Congress continuously targeted CPM workers. What happened on the day of Thiruvonam was a result of this,” he said.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also stated that Kerala will never forgive these murderers. He called for the public to isolate them. CPM wants peace. It does not want another murder in retaliation to these murders. However, the response will be using ballot paper. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan added that the anger and frustration over the twin murder should be used to defeat the Congress party in the next election. Efforts in this regard will commence in the coming days, he said.
The CPM state secretary also said that the party will protect the families of Haq Muhammad and Mithilaj. The party will take care of the educational needs of their children. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also warned party workers to not fall prey to the provocations of Congress and said that CPM workers should not resort to violence.
