Kodakara panchayat president pays Rs 1,988 for using govt vehicle for personal use on holiday

Kodakara: Kodakara panchayat president Ambili Soman paid Rs 1988 to the panchayat for using the official vehicle for personal use on holiday. This is as per the rule that if the panchayat vehicle is used for purposes other than official, money must be paid to the government.

Congress mandalam president M.K Shine gave a written complaint on October 4 to the panchayat secretary stating that the president had used the vehicle for his personal errands. When the secretary sent a letter seeking an explanation for this, the president replied that he had made the payment for the same last month itself. 

He attended a wedding in Udayamperoor while returning from official duty and clarified that he had paid the charge for using the vehicle for this detour.

Congress party workers had propagated a picture of the vehicle parked outside the wedding hall via social media.
