Kochi Models' death: Crime Branch submits charge sheet; Roy J Vayalat, Shaiju named as accused

Kochi: The district Crime Branch here on Tuesday submitted the charge sheet over the probe into the road accident which claimed the lives of three including two models in Kochi. No 18 Hotel owner Roy J Vayalat, Shaiju Thankachan, car driver Abdurahman, and eight others are named as accused in the case.
In the charge sheet, Crime Branch reported that the car in which the models were travelling met with the accident as Shaiju chased it. It is noted that Abdurahman, who drove the models' car, was intoxicated during the time and this caused accident.
Meantime, the Crime Branch found that Shaiju Thankachan was following the models with the wrong intention.
Roy J Vayalat and Shaiju requested the models to stay in Kochi before they left No 18 hotel was with evil intention, observed Crime Branch in the charge sheet.
All five employees of Hotel No 18 are booked for destroying the evidence. Roy J Vayalat has been charged with the same offence.
Former Miss Kerala winners and models Ansi Kabeer, Anjana Shajan and their friend Aashiq were killed in the road accident on November 1, 2021, in Palarivattom. The car they were travelling crashed into a tree. Police also found that Abdurahman, who was driving the vehicle, was under the influence of alcohol. Following this, it came to light that the models were returning from a hotel in Fort Kochi. A subsequent investigation uncovered mysteries behind the accident.
