New Delhi: Postmortem of 8 Keralites, who were found dead inside a hotel room in Daman, will be carried out on Wednesday at Tribhuvan University Medical College in Nepal. At the same time, efforts are on to take the mortal remains to Kerala by Wednesday evening. The bodies will be taken in two flights.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan stated that the central government is trying to take the bodies to Delhi by Wednesday evening on flight.

At present, direct flight service is available from Kathmandu to Delhi. The services are operated in morning and evening. Minister assured that all bodies will be taken to Delhi by Thursday if not on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Nepal government ordered a detailed probe into the death of the Keralites. It is assumed that they died due to inhaling carbon monoxide which was emitted from the heater inside the room.

The victims were identified as Praveen Krishnan Nair, Saranya Sasi, Sreebhadra Praveen, Aarcha Praveen, Abhinav Saranya Nair, Ranjith Kumar Adatholath Punathil, Indu Lakshmi Peethambaran Ragalatha and Vyshnav Ranjith.

The deceased - two couples and four children - were part of a group of 15 people travelling from Kerala to Pokhara, a popular mountainous tourist destination. They were on their way back home and had stayed at Everest Panorama Resort in Daman in Makawanpur district on Monday night.
